How I got into Anime Music Videos

I started off playing MUDs (text based RPGs) moved on to Final Fantasy VII, and other RPGs of which most were on the Playstation my cousin owned. When I finally got cable television, I had the pleasure of seeing anime for the first time. But none really caught my attention until Rurouni Kenshin was broadcasted. I had a passion for sketching, but I sucked at it. I have friends who can attest to how bad my sketching is, so there is no dispute there.

In 1999-2000, I saw Kusoyaro’s Kyoto Kombat and Glory of Love AMV. I never really thought about doing AMVs until I fiddled with Adobe Premiere 5.0 (yes 5.0, not 6.0) and came up with my first three videos, having no special effects and no proper lip syncing. I was never proud of them, and am still embarassed about them. Soon after, I started using DVDs as sources for high quality AMVs, eventually finishing my last in 2003.

These fanworks represent my tribute to anime and music, and I hope you would enjoy viewing them. I may or may not return to the AMV arena, but I really do miss the times when I made these.
